Agenda :To showcase the significance of vulnerability reduction, with great emphasis on capacity development of women, youth, children, disabled, elderly and strengthening the inclusive approach. National Seminar on Technology in the Era of Internet: Advantages and Concerns of Privacy and Security.
Agenda :The Seminar was organized to understand the usage of technology and its deployment in the cause of humanity. The participants and presenters were largely legal and technical experts who drew upon the advantages in the form of boons that it has provided the mankind with. There were another set of experts who invoked critically the concerns of privacy & security caused due to the same. The aim was to understand how technology could be deployed in Disaster Risk Reduction without violating the integrity of those involved.
International Seminar on Role of Media in Disaster Risk Reduction and its Management on Contemporary Times.
Agenda :The International seminar was organized to deliberate on the role that Media plays in the situations of disasters. This was done in the wake of concerns that has been marked with regard to the ethics and probity that Media should follow. A round table conference was also organized to understand the sensitive and conscientious role that media has to play in the context of its impact and significance it has on the lives of the people and how media could be made active partners in disseminating knowledge with regard to DRR.
Second World Congress on Disaster Management (2nd WCDM)
Agenda :The Second WCDM was organized with the aim to bring in centrally the marginalized and most vulnerable section in the situations of Disasters.( Doubly Disadvantaged and thus most vulnerable). Sessions and deliberations were organized by putting greater emphasis on capacity development of these sections in the form of women, youth, children, disabled and elderly. The 2WCDM emphasized on strengthening the inclusive approach as spelt out in Sendai Framework. The purpose of the congress was to enable evolution of better management techniques for disaster prevention, disaster mitigation, disaster preparedness and disaster relief in the wake of rehabilitation and reconstruction. The key outcome of the world Conference was the Visakhapatnam Declaration which emphasized on Community Resilience in Disaster Risk Reduction.

Agenda :With global participation and expertise on fire Hazards, the conference was organized to discuss 0best global practices that could be followed in such situations. The importance of safety drills and continuous institutional training was an recurring recommendation. The conference also showcased the techniques to save one self in situations of fire through the means of drills and exhibitions.

National Conference on Post Tsunami Introspection Action Plan and Brain Storming Session an Ideal Tsunami Warning System for Indian Ocean
This was organized with the aim of creating awareness about Tsunamis post 2004 that had created havoc in the Sri Lanka and the neighbor state of Tamil Nadu and the steps that need to be taken to make the region tsunami secure and also for setting up world class warning systems in Indian Oceans. Wide range of experts from scientists to oceanographers were involved in discussions.
